Hello!
Welcome to Sandbox Journeys

Filmmaking in Schools

We are a film company that specialise in filmmaking and theatre training programmes for primary and secondary school students. We run short courses, creating student-led bespoke comedies, documentaries and dramas to both entertain and inform their peers.
Built from experience working with Transport for London's Youth Travel Ambassador Scheme, Sandbox Journeys offer fun, film and theatre projects based around topics close to the heart of parents, teachers and students alike including:
-
Road safety
-
Air Pollution
-
Anti-bullying
-
Online safety
-
Coronavirus stories
-
Curriculum-based films

We want to make films that fuel the imaginations of the students and fulfil the needs of the school.
We focus on teamwork and creativity and allowing students to experience the wide range of activities relating to the world of filmmaking.

What's New?

New programmes for 2021
As well as our original four week workshop series, we are offering a range of adaptable programmes to support teachers during these uncertain times.

We are creating a series of free lesson plans, and paid workshops that can take place using video lesson plans or via Zoom, depending upon the individual schools wants and needs. More news to follow on this very soon.

We are dedicated to the continuing development of young, creative minds and will keep working to deliver filmmaking projects throughout this time.

St. Mary's Bryanston Square
This is one of 14 different movies being made with schools around the Marylebone area in London over the next two years.

This exciting programme allows both primary and secondary school students to study the air quality in their area, under the tutelage of Sustrans. Using their newly acquired knowledge through class sessions and practical experiments the students then create a short film for their school, community and local area.

St. Mary's Bryanstons Square School were our first school in this two year programme and the students really got to grips with the science and the practicalities and creativity required for the filmmaking.
